Umbrella Rock is a natural rock formation which has to be seen to be believed. From pictures its hard to see how this natural rock formation is able to stand up but be assured its very strong. As the name implies the look of the rock resembles an Umbrella with an over hang at the top which is large enough to cover 12 to 15 people from the glare of the sun or rain showers.
Umbrella Rock can be found close to Boti Falls in Yilo Krobo District. Yilo Krobo is one of the thirty-three districts in Eastern Region, Ghana. The closest town is Koforidua.
Most people hike from Boti Falls to Umbrella Rock. The trek is a well trodden one so you will not get lost, if following the trial the trek can take up to 1 hour and is enjoyable. There are some hills to climb but nothing too steep. Alternatively you can go by car if you do the journey only takes 13 mins from Boti Falls to Umbrella rock.
